Inks and Wax Studies

Abstract possibilties are endless in experiemntational form and processes. The need and desire to resspnd towards an idea is extremly importent to allow the creative thought to be visualised. Integrating a textile and painting principles together have allowed a sries of outcomes  to be tested and produced to a high visual and aesthetic level where the surface employsa  great contrast in surface and textural depth. Staining a piece of cotton using highly intense inks and dyes have achieved a strong pigment/painting ground which relates upon chance strategy and Abstract Stains. The halo and glow effect were of major impact to the eye in allowing the observer to admire the pigment behaviour. Developing tthe surface through applying a layer of spilled hot wax has melted through the cotton creating a crackled effect. The contrast between the two apporaches in vissual form are very spontaneous and explore the potential of collaborating with diverse materials and surface strategies. The outcomes are pure, sensitive and delicate textile type forms that show appreciation towards suface approaches and play.
