The aim of the residency was to provide a innovative teaching and creative appraoch within Art education with reference to the national curriculum, with the intention to provide a creative means to play and experimentation within the school. The residency provided an oppertunity to enhance others insight into the creative oppertunities available towards expressing, drawing and painting withought constricting childrens creative thoughts, but guiding them through a structured and educational apporach which was at a supporting curricilum level.
Alllowing children to access Art as a means to respond, interact and play was a prime importence to my intention to realise a two way learning route. This would be realised in the context where my experience and artistic practice would enhance their perception of art. On the other hand their response and interaction towards my ideas would benefit my approach towards teaching and organising suitable teaching material such as workshops, lessons and activities. This also increased my personal awareness in terms of providing new experiemntation paths in developing their understanding towards media and surface relationships, formalistic elements, mark making, creative possibilities etc.
